Birds of Paradise

An ivory ground field is overlaid with a fine trellis of thin diagonal lattice lines in brown and ochre, their intersections dotted with small flecks of red, blue, and gold. The wide surrounding border, also on a cream ground, is populated with a procession of individually rendered birds—perched, standing, and in profile—rendered in muted olive, brown, black, and touches of turquoise, interspersed at the corners with small floral sprays. A thin dark outline frames the trellis field, setting it off cleanly from the pictorial border.

Fall

Flat Weave Technique

A soft rose and amber ground carries a central lozenge medallion formed of overlapping acanthus leaves and a small cruciform blossom at its heart. Surrounding this, garlands of feathery foliage and rosettes loop outward in mirrored symmetry, framed by a wide border of dense floral scrollwork in cream, coral, and sage tones. The palette shifts gently across the field between warm brown and dusty pink grounds, giving the surface a faded, tapestry-like softness.

Ring of Roses

A pale straw ground carries a lattice of ochre medallions bound by ribboned bows in rust and cream, each cartouche filled with scrolling foliage and a small rosette at its center. The border alternates elongated floral cartouches of pink and green sprays against cream with narrow bands of scrolling vine on a taupe ground, framed by plain outer stripes. The overall palette stays soft throughout - gold, taupe, rose, and sage - with the field's medallions arranged in a regular diagonal grid.

Trellis Bessarabian

The field is organized as a diagonal trellis of ribbed latticework in tan and ivory, each diamond compartment filled with a cluster of acanthus-like leaves in olive and gold tones set against a pale celadon ground. A scalloped inner guard of overlapping shell forms in soft blue-green and cream separates the field from the outer border, which carries a dark chocolate band scrolled with fine ivory vinework and edged in coral-pink meander.

Orchid

The pale sage-green field carries an all-over lattice of scrolling vine and palmette motifs in ivory, soft blue, ochre, and rust, arranged around a vertical axis of larger cusped floral medallions. A broad golden-mustard border encloses the field with sprays of leafy palmettes and rosettes in the same palette, flanked by narrow guard stripes of small rosette and vine patterning. The corners of the main border show subtle irregularities in the placement of the floral sprays, breaking strict mirror symmetry.

Apricot Adjar

Mixed Aubusson technique

The soft sage-green field carries a symmetrical lattice of scrolling vines connecting large palmettes and lobed floral medallions in ivory, apricot, and pale gold. A central vertical axis of stacked blossoms and serrated leaves anchors the composition, while paired sprays of oak-like leaves echo along the sides. The wide ivory border is filled with an undulating vine of alternating palmettes and jagged foliate forms, framed by narrower guard stripes in muted rust and green tones.

Sultanabad

An open cornflower-blue field carries a lattice of large palmettes and serrated leaf forms, each blossom radiating from a rust-colored heart through bands of ivory and sage green. The composition is arranged in a mirrored, four-point repeat, with smaller palmettes and sprays of lanceolate leaves filling the ground between the principal medallions. There is no distinct border visible in the photograph; the pattern runs to the edges, framed only by a narrow flatwoven selvage.

Sultanabad

The pale blue field is filled edge to edge with an interlocking lattice of palmettes and serrated leaves rendered in soft rust, ivory, gold, and sage tones, radiating from a central medallion of stacked floral rosettes. A narrow plain blue border frames the composition, with only the faintest hairline stripe separating field from selvage. The overall palette stays cool and washed-out, with the warm ochre and terracotta blossoms standing out crisply against the muted ground.

Peach Reflection

An ivory ground carries an elongated medallion formed of paired lobed cartouches linked pole-to-pole, filled with cream palmettes and framed by pale blue and soft green scrolling vinery. Sprays of serrated leaves, rosettes, and small floral clusters in muted rust, olive, and slate blue drift across the open field, thinning toward the corners left largely bare. The wide border repeats a running floral-and-vine lattice in matching tones, bounded by narrower guard stripes of small blossoms on cream.

Golden Coral

A pale golden field carries an allover lattice of scrolling vines supporting palmettes, rosettes, and serrated leaves rendered in rust, slate blue, ivory, and soft brown. The wide chocolate-brown border repeats a similar floral vine in miniature, framed by a narrow ivory guard stripe with small rosettes, and the corners resolve the pattern symmetrically. The palette stays consistent between field and border, giving the whole surface a warm, even tonality.
