Beni Ourain

The field is an ivory ground overlaid with an irregular lattice of tan-brown lines forming an all-over cellular, honeycomb-like pattern of uneven rectangular and diamond compartments. The grid tightens near the top edge into small pointed arches before opening into looser, larger cells toward the lower field. No border framework separates field from edge; loose warp ends form a fringe along both the top and bottom.

Berber

An open, undecorated field of thick ivory pile is interrupted only by three narrow, irregular brown bands running horizontally across the upper third, their edges uneven rather than straight. The remainder of the ground is left plain, with soft variations in tone catching the light across the deep pile. Fringes of the warp ends are visible at both the top and bottom edges.

Beni Ourain

An undecorated ivory field is crossed by a lattice of thin, irregular brown diamond lines that run corner to corner, interrupted by a single broad horizontal band of solid brown across the middle third. There is no separate border, the design running to the edges, and the piece finishes with a plain warp fringe at top and bottom.

Beni Ourain

A pale ivory ground carries a thin, irregular blue lattice that shifts register across the field: a zigzag diamond band at the top, a run of vertical stripes and lozenges through the middle, and an uneven grid of squares and rectangles filling the lower portion. There is no distinct border, the linework simply meeting the outer edges, and the drawing has a loose, hand-drawn quality with lines that waver and misalign slightly at their junctions.

Berber

An open ivory ground is divided by a single horizontal line into two unequal fields, sparsely marked with brown line motifs: short vertical strokes and slender ladder-like columns in the lower section. The left and right borders differ from one another, one composed of stacked diamond lattices with two solid brown lozenges near the top, the other formed of interlocking diamonds that resolve into a solid triangular point near the base. A muted grey-brown band crosses the lower field just above the fringe, and loose warp ends are left knotted along the bottom edge.

Beni Ourain

An open, undecorated field in a natural warm taupe surrounds a single ivory frame set well inward from the edges, with no additional motifs breaking the surface. The heavy, uneven pile shows subtle striations of tone across the ground, and loose warp fringe remains at both ends.

Berber

The field is left entirely open, a deep shag of mottled brown and grey pile shading subtly from lighter tan tones at the edges to a richer chocolate hue at center, with faint vertical striations running the length of the field. A plain undyed cream border frames the field on all sides, and loose ivory fringe finishes both ends.

Beni Ourain

An open ivory field is left largely bare, crossed by thin brown horizontal lines and scattered short dashes of varying length. Below a band of small comb-like marks, the lower field carries a loose scatter of small glyphs - hooks, ovals, and short vertical bars - with four narrow striped columns descending toward the bottom edge. Plain warp fringe finishes both ends, with a stray red thread knotted near one corner.

Berber

A solid dark brown field is left entirely open, uninterrupted apart from a single horizontal band of pale, irregular flecked striping crossing the lower third. This field is set within a plain wide ivory border, unadorned except for the natural variegation of its surface, with loose fringe visible along the lower edge.

Berber

A field of solid abraded blue, its surface animated by rows of staggered rectangular blocks in rust, moss green, ochre, taupe and pale coral, each block filled with small linear or dotted motifs in cream and white. The blocks are arranged in offset horizontal bands rather than a strict grid, with irregular spacing between them, and a plain narrow border edged with small notched marks in gold and cream frames the composition.
