Tuareg Mat
An open-weave flatwoven ground appears here as a shimmering field of vertical striations in tones of tan, ochre, and rust, the fine gaps between warp lines creating an almost watered, moiré-like optical shift across the surface. Narrow reserved bands run the length of the field, subtly dividing the ground into columns without disrupting its overall unity. A slim border in deeper brown frames the piece, with the fringed selvage left visible at both ends.
