Malm-Moon Light

Swedish Flat Weave Technique

The field is organized into a grid of rectangular panels alternating between muted olive-gold and pale beige tones, each block separated by thin dotted lines in cream, yellow, and dark plum. A striped border of narrow bands in matching hues frames the composition, with small geometric ticking patterns running along its length and short blocks of solid dark plum punctuating the corners. The overall palette stays within soft golds, greys, and creams, with only occasional flecks of deeper purple-brown for contrast.

Stria

Swedish Flat Weave Technique

The field is left entirely open, a soft expanse of ivory and taupe threaded with irregular horizontal striations of grey and warm brown that ripple across the surface like watermarks. A narrow border of small, stepped triangular motifs in dark brown and cream frames the top and bottom edges, echoing a simple geometric rhythm against the otherwise plain ground. The overall effect is quiet and tonal, with subtle shifts in value rather than any large-scale pattern carrying the design.

Kanaler

Swedish Flat Weave Technique

The field is left entirely open, an unbroken expanse of warm oatmeal tone crossed by narrow pale bands that divide the surface into horizontal registers of uneven width. There is no border, medallion, or figural device; the composition depends solely on the rhythm of these plain stripes against the textured ground. Coloration is restrained throughout, ranging from soft taupe to bleached cream, with no other decoration or inscription visible.

Obtuse

A pale ivory ground is crossed by a continuous vertical chain of diamond and lozenge shapes formed by thin diagonal lines that zigzag from selvedge to selvedge. Alternating lozenges are filled in rust, slate blue, and deep aubergine, while others remain open outlines against the ground, creating a rhythmic light-dark pulse down the length. Narrow banded borders of small ticking marks in rust, blue, and dark brown frame the composition at each end, finishing in plain warp fringe.

Stanza

The field is filled edge to edge with a dense herringbone pattern of diagonal ridges, alternating direction in an irregular basketweave-like arrangement across the surface. There is no separate border, the pattern running straight to the fringed ends, and the palette is a close range of ivory, pale sage, and muted grey-green that gives the surface a shifting, tonal texture rather than a fixed motif. Fringe in undyed cream is visible at both ends.
