The surface presents as a series of horizontal bands in varying textures, alternating between flat, ivory-toned passages and looped or curled rows of grey and taupe. Flecks of rust and warm brown are scattered irregularly throughout, breaking up the otherwise muted, neutral palette. A close-up inset at the lower right highlights the contrast between the smooth foundation and the nubbled, uneven pile rising from it.

A close-up of a plain-woven surface arranged in a sequence of narrow horizontal bands, alternating between an undyed ivory ground and rows of pale blue that thicken gradually from thin flecked lines into solid stripes toward the lower portion. The banding reads almost like a gradient, moving from sparse dotted texture at the top to dense, saturated color at the bottom edge. A circular inset at lower right offers a magnified view of the interlacing structure, showing the two-tone yarns crossing in a tight, even grid.

The surface presents a tightly banded texture, alternating slate-grey rows with narrow ivory striations that run horizontally across the field. Small flecks of tan and rust appear intermittently among the grey, breaking the otherwise uniform tonal rhythm. A circular detail inset at the lower right isolates a section of the weave, showing individual looped tufts in mixed grey, cream, and brown against the striped ground.
Mohair and Cotton
The surface presents an all-over open field with no discernible border or figural motif, composed of small looped and knotted tufts set against a striped ground of alternating cream and warm brown tones. A magnified detail in the lower right highlights the texture of the individual loops and the fine striped substructure beneath them, showing how the pale tufts sit against the narrow banded ground.

Cotton
The surface is given entirely to a fine, even checkerboard of navy and ivory, each small square built from tightly packed horizontal ridges. Along the left edge, a row of raised ivory loops forms a decorative selvage, giving the border a beaded, tactile finish distinct from the plain-woven field. A detail inset at lower right shows the weave close up, revealing the crisp alternation of dark and light threads at the intersections.
