BIRDS OF PARADISE
Double Cream, Pile, Alpaca Wool
The field is laid out as an open ivory ground crossed by a fine diamond lattice rendered in thin brown line, leaving each cell empty. A wide surrounding border repeats a procession of perched birds - long-necked waders and parrot-like species in teal, ochre and rust - alternating with small potted or flowering plant motifs, all set against the same pale ground. The corners are marked by a bird paired with a flowering shrub, and the whole composition is framed by a plain dark line before the outer margin.
