Swedish Flat Weave

A long, narrow runner in a solid charcoal-gray ground, its plain surface uninterrupted from end to end. A detail inset reveals the actual weave pattern hidden by distance: a lattice of interlocking diamonds in blue-gray and black tones, bordered along one edge by a slim band of cornflower blue.

A long, narrow runner set on a deep brown ground filled with a repeating column of elongated diamond and arrow-like medallions. Each motif is banded in red, sage green, mustard, and slate blue, stacked vertically in a continuous chain from end to end. The narrow sides finish in plain warp fringe, and a small woven mark appears near the lower corner of the field.

A shaped panel, cut with scalloped shoulders to a chair-back silhouette, worked on a cream ground with a central spray of carnations and a large rose in shades of crimson, dusty pink, mustard, and burgundy, set among green and sage foliage on curling brown stems. Flanking vertical borders carry a twisted ribbon motif in dark and pale green over a brown ground line, interspersed with small sprigs of red and yellow buds.

    Needlepoint

An irregularly shaped panel with a fawn ground, its outline following the natural contour of an unfinished edge rather than a straight border. A single rose bush rises from a rocky mound at the base, its dark branches spreading across the surface in a fan of red and pink blossoms, buds, and green and mustard-toned leaves. The absence of a framing border allows the flowering shrub to fill the field completely, reaching to the irregular perimeter on all sides.

    Needlepoint

A rounded, roughly oval panel worked on a rose-pink ground, its unbound edges left raw and unfinished. A garland of stylized roses and leafy sprigs in olive green, ochre, and cream encircles the field, framing a central bouquet of similar blossoms tied with a ribbon bow at its base. The palette throughout is limited to soft greens and pale yellows set against the dominant pink ground.
