An open ivory field carries a sparse lattice of thin gray diamonds drawn in a loose, irregular hand, leaving generous plain ground between the lines. Narrow dark brown bands close the top and bottom edges, with the natural fringe left visible below the lower band.
An open sage-green field is scattered with small, widely spaced motifs - tiny diamond medallions, wave-like zigzag figures, and paired vertical forms resembling stylized feathers or plants, rendered in mustard, brick red, ivory, and dark brown. The border repeats an elongated diamond-and-lozenge chain in cream, mustard, and burgundy between narrow zigzag guard stripes, framed by a dark brown outer band. A detail inset at lower right shows the pile's cut surface, revealing the layered coloration of brown, mustard, ivory, and green tufts.
Center Medallion Design
An open brown field is centered by a stepped ivory cross bearing the inscribed date "19 ENC 34" within its arms. A narrow lavender line frames the field, giving way to a wide ivory border filled with angular red, coral, and dark-brown geometric hooks and stepped forms, repeated in mirrored pairs along each side, with small feathered blue-and-red motifs interspersed between them. The outer edge is finished in a plain dark-brown band.
Persian Soumak wool panels
The field is divided into five vertical panels of unequal width, each filled with fine horizontal striations that catch the light differently as the tones shift from pale ivory to warm taupe and soft grey-brown. There is no border framing the composition; the panels simply run edge to edge, meeting in slightly uneven seams. A detail inset shows the close, ridged texture of the surface, where narrow bands of cream, tan, and dark brown alternate in tight, irregular rows.
The field is left entirely open, bordered by unadorned selvedges, and organized instead by narrow vertical stripes that run the full length in varying widths and tonal shifts of beige, tan, and soft taupe. Faint horizontal seams cross the field at intervals, breaking the striping into loose, uneven registers rather than a strict repeat.
