The ivory field is organized into a fine grid of small compartments, each holding a distinct sprig, blossom, or spray rendered in muted tan, grey and black, with paired leaf and bird-like motifs meeting along the central axis. Scalloped bands of stacked triangles in taupe and cream mark the top and bottom of the field before giving way to a wide border of large stylized flowers, scrolling tendrils and interlaced medallions in shades of beige, grey, ochre and black. The composition is mirrored top-to-bottom and left-to-right, with a narrow plain brown outer strip framing the whole.

The ivory field is divided into a compartmentalized lattice, each cell holding a distinct sprig, blossom, or abstract emblem rendered in soft tan, ochre, grey, and touches of black, so that no two boxes repeat exactly. Undulating scalloped bands with triangular teeth close the top and bottom of the field, echoing the zigzag rhythm found elsewhere in the design. A wide border of large stylized rosettes and curling foliate forms in dusty blue, buff, and warm brown frames the composition, set against a chocolate-brown outer ground.
