The deep blue ground is covered by a grid of large interlocking medallions, each composed of four lobed leaf forms in crimson red radiating around a small compass-star center, framed by ivory scrollwork and rings of gold and red beading. Smaller star-form roundels fill the interstices between the large medallions. The border is a continuous chain of quatrefoil cross forms in gold, ivory and red set against alternating blue and cream ground, echoing the palette of the field.
