Aubusson

The field is organized as an interlaced dark brown lattice over an ivory ground, each octagonal compartment holding a small bouquet of pink, coral, and blue flowers with green sprigs. A narrow ivory guard band separates the field from the outer border, where an undulating vine bears rosettes and leaves in coral, gold, and pale blue against a warm ochre ground. The trellis repeat is consistent across the field, with paired floral sprays alternating in orientation within adjoining cells.

Louis XV Period

The field is laid out as an all-over trellis of crossed leafy sprays in ivory and sage, each intersection marked by a small pink and cream rosette on an olive-green ground. A wide border in deep brown carries a repeating anthemion-and-scroll motif in tones of gold and ochre, framed by narrow plain guard stripes and an outer band of striped blue and tan flat-woven edging. The pattern runs with quiet regularity across the field, broken only by the crisper, more saturated palette of the border.

A pale celadon field is overlaid with a fine trellis of intersecting diagonal lines, each diamond compartment centered by a small dash motif rendered in soft ivory and mauve tones. Pale ribboned garlands of blue and yellow flowers, tied at intervals with looping bows, run along all four borders against a muted sage ground, framed by narrow ivory guard stripes. Two corners of the field show a brighter, almost golden sheen where the light catches the surface differently from the rest of the ground.

The sage-green field is scattered with a small repeating diaper of gold fleur-de-lis and shield-like emblems set among a fine tone-on-tone leafy vine pattern. Two gilt cartouches with foliate scrollwork sit side by side near the center, their interiors left blank as if awaiting an initial or crest. A deeper teal border frames the field, edged with a delicate gold guilloche and laurel-swag band running along all four sides.

An open ivory field is worked with tone-on-tone scrolling acanthus and strapwork, left almost bare at center to let the ground read as blank. The border, more slender at the sides than at the corners, is composed of loose garlands of pink and cream roses, small blossoms and olive-green foliage that swell into fuller floral bouquets at each corner.

Aubusson

An ivory field is covered with symmetrical scrolling acanthus tendrils in soft beige and taupe, interlaced with garlands of small pink roses and scattered floral sprigs. The border is composed of a rust-red band flanked by a repeating cream acanthus-leaf scroll, framed by a narrow plain ivory guard stripe. The overall palette stays muted throughout, with only the border's terracotta tone offering contrast to the pale field.
