Beni Ourain

An open ivory field is overlaid with a continuous lattice of thin, irregularly drawn brown-gray diamonds running the full length of the piece. A narrow plain border in the same brown-gray tone frames the field, with loose warp fringe left visible at both ends. The high, uneven pile catches light unevenly, giving the diamond lines a slightly wavering, hand-drawn quality rather than a rigid geometry.

Berber

The field is organized in horizontal bands alternating plain ivory stripes with dark brown-black registers filled with small diamond and X-shaped lattice patterns in rust, blue-gray, and cream. No separate border frames the composition; the striped structure runs the full length, ending in loose warp fringe at both ends.

Berber

An open, undecorated field in an ivory-cream tone is crossed by a series of thin horizontal lines in a soft warm brown, spaced at fairly regular intervals from top to bottom. There is no border and no medallion, only the plain ground interrupted by these bands, with a faint reddish mark visible near the upper portion of the field. Both ends finish in loose, unknotted fringe of the same pale, undyed color.

Azilal

An ivory ground left largely open supports a loosely spaced procession of pictorial motifs: paired tall tree-like forms with red and green dotted branches, a row of small quadrupeds, a line of dark stylized human figures with raised arms, and a band of arch-form trees above a row of diamonds and a zigzag border. Colors read as cream, black-brown, muted red and green, with a narrow striped end finish and loose warp fringe.

Tuareg Mat

A pale straw-colored ground is dominated by a stepped, cruciform lattice of deep red and dark brown-black outlines, radiating from a central diamond medallion filled with a fine diamond-lattice pattern into four echoing corner forms. Surrounding this is a border of nested rectangular bands, including a zigzag chevron stripe in red and cream, framed by plain narrow stripes, with loose fringed edges left visible at top and bottom.

Tuareg Mat

The field is divided into a lower and upper register of small repeating diamonds worked in golden-tan against a deep chocolate-brown ground, separated by a central band of vertical panels alternating plain dark stripes with columns of nested diamonds and fine striping. The palette shifts subtly across the surface from rust-red to near-black, giving an uneven, sun-worn quality to the ground color. Loose warp fringe is visible at both the top and bottom edges.

Diamond pattern

The open, pale straw-colored ground is crossed by dark concentric lozenges radiating outward from a central point, each nested diamond outlined in a fine dotted line. Smaller diamond and cross motifs fill the interior compartments, while the corners carry partial chevron-like fragments where the pattern is cut by the edges. Loose, unfinished fringes remain visible along the top and bottom borders.

Tuareg Mat

A tawny gold ground, finely striated with vertical striping, is worked entirely in outline rather than solid color. Stepped cross and diamond forms in a warm brown line the field in a symmetrical arrangement, with tall cross finials anchoring each upper corner and a slender cross-topped column running down each side. The composition is left otherwise open, with no enclosing border, so the linear motifs float directly against the plain ground.

Tuareg Mat

The field is organized in vertical bands of deep rust and blackened brown, each panel filled with fine zigzag and diamond lattice patterning in a slightly lighter tone. Narrow striped bands in ochre and dark red run between the wider panels, some marked with small dark dots arranged in a single file down their length. The lower edge ends in a long, loose fringe of twisted warp ends left unbound.

Tuareg Mat

An open, finely striated ground in golden tan is crossed by a repeating zigzag lattice rendered in a darker brown, forming a continuous chevron pattern from top to bottom. The border is minimal, a narrow plain band in the same brown tone framing the field on all sides. No additional motifs, inscriptions, or corner devices are visible.
