Beni Ourain

An ivory ground carries three vertical lattices of brown diamonds formed by interlocking zigzag lines, flanked by open cream margins on either side. A stepped, crenellated brown border runs along the sides, contrasting with the plainer top and bottom edges, and the lower end finishes in loosely knotted blue and cream fringe.

Beni Ourain

A large open diamond lattice, drawn in dark brown, dominates the ivory field, its lines bristling with small serrated projections along the outer edges. Scattered diamond and lozenge motifs in the same dark tone fill the field both inside and outside the central diamond, arranged in loose, irregular rows rather than a strict grid. Narrow plain dark stripes frame the field on all four sides, with the fringe left long and undyed at top and bottom.

Zaiane

A long narrow runner built entirely of horizontal registers, each band carrying its own dense pattern of small diamonds, zigzags, and stepped lattice motifs in a subdued palette of rose, ochre, cream, and deep aubergine. Toward the upper section a run of stylized animal figures appears within one striped register, set apart from the surrounding geometric bands. The end finishes show a plain dark selvage band framing the patterned field, with the overall surface reading as a stacked sequence of individually treated stripes rather than a single unified field and border.

Beni Ourain

An open field of graduated orange and red tones, brushed with subtle bands of ochre and rust, is overlaid by an irregular diamond lattice rendered in undyed ivory-and-brown flecked yarn. The lattice loosens and elongates toward the lower register, breaking into freestanding zigzag chains rather than a strict repeat, giving the composition an improvised, unbalanced rhythm. Loose warp fringe remains at both ends, with a plain woven band closing the top edge.

Glaoua

The field is organized in horizontal bands alternating a pale ivory ground with darker brown-black stripes, each register filled with small diamond, lozenge, and star motifs in coral orange, mustard yellow, soft green, and cream. A vertical central column of larger diamonds runs down the length of the piece, punctuated by a few isolated dark blocky shapes near the lower end. Narrow striped bands finish the top and bottom edges, ending in loose warp fringe on both sides.

Azilal

Ait Bou, Morocco

The field is organized into horizontal bands of small rectangular blocks in yellow, green, gold, and black, separated by rows of red ground crossed with zigzag chevrons in cream. A narrow patterned border frames the composition, and the lower edge shows a plain gold-orange band finished with loosely knotted warp fringe.

Beni Ourain

A shaggy ivory field is overlaid with a repeating brown diamond lattice, the lines drawn loosely and unevenly by hand. Small dark accent marks appear scattered within several of the diamond cells, and the plain ivory ground is left otherwise open. Narrow dark brown bands interrupt the selvage at intervals on both sides, with a plain woven border at top and bottom finishing in loose ivory fringe.

Tazenakht

The field is filled edge to edge with a dense allover lattice of small triangles alternating brown and ivory, creating a shimmering checkerboard effect across the entire surface. A narrow zigzag line in brown and ivory frames the field, with a plain notched border at top and bottom, and loose warp fringe visible at both ends.

Beni Ourain

An open ivory field is overlaid with a repeating lattice of thin brown diamonds, spare enough that the pale ground remains the dominant presence. Narrow dark brown bands close the top and bottom edges, giving way to a plain fringe at each end. The diamonds are drawn freehand, with slight irregularities in spacing and angle across the length.

Beni Ourain

A long, narrow runner in undyed ivory with sparse brown line-work scattered across the field. The upper portion carries loosely drawn zigzags and diamond lattices interspersed with scattered dots, giving way lower down to a sequence of horizontal bands - solid lines, dashed lines, and rows of small squares - that divide the lower third into distinct registers. The palette stays entirely within cream and warm brown, with no border framing the composition.
