Moroccan Kilim

An open ivory ground runs the full length of the piece, crossed by narrow horizontal banding drawn in golden-brown line work. Scattered across the field are small scattered motifs—diamonds, crosses, zigzag chains, and slender tree-like or star forms—arranged in loose vertical registers rather than a strict repeat. Plain warp fringe finishes both short ends, and the sparse, irregular placement of the symbols gives the composition an improvisational, hand-drawn quality.

Glaoua

The field is composed entirely of horizontal bands running the full width of the piece, alternating between broad stripes of deep brown, camel, and pale ivory with narrower accents of soft blue-green and apricot. Several of the lighter bands carry small scattered motifs - fine arrow-like marks, faint chevrons, and scattered flecks in orange and brown - breaking the otherwise plain striping. No distinct border separates field from edge; the composition ends in loose warp fringe at both ends.

Moroccan Kilim

An open, undecorated field in pale ivory is left almost entirely plain, its surface broken only by faint horizontal striations running the width of the piece. Along both selvedges, short bands of small-scale geometric ornament in rust, plum, and dark brown punctuate the otherwise bare ground at regular intervals, like a running tally. The ends finish in loose, hand-knotted fringe.

Beni Ourain

An ivory field carries an irregular lattice of brown outlined diamonds, the grid loosening toward the lower third into scattered, freestanding lozenges and small figural marks in ochre, rust, and black. A narrow striped guard band in cream and dark brown frames the field, with plain ivory selvages left bare at either side and long warp fringe at both ends.

Moroccan Kilim

The field is composed entirely of narrow horizontal bands in varying tones of ivory, oatmeal, and pale taupe, running the full width of the piece with no border or corner devices. The banding shifts in density near the top, where the stripes cluster more tightly before opening into broader, softer rows across the lower two-thirds. Both ends finish in loose, undyed fringe, and the surface is otherwise left open, without figural or geometric motifs.

Azilal

An ivory ground is overlaid with an irregular brown lattice drawn in loose, hand-drawn diamonds that loses its rhythm toward the lower half, leaving a wide open expanse of plain trellis. At the center, five horizontal rows of solid lozenges break the pattern in tan, coral pink, and teal green, stacked to form a narrow vertical column of color against the pale field. The rug is left bare of any border, with the fringe visible at top and a narrow flat woven band along the edges.

Tazenakht

A dark brown ground is organized into horizontal registers: a scattered field of small ivory and rose diamonds at top gives way to a band of stylized quadruped and V-shaped figures, then a row of larger stepped diamond medallions, a repeat of the small quadruped motifs, and finally a bold ivory-and-brown checkerboard filling the lower third. Fringe remains at the top edge with a narrow chevron-patterned band along it, and the side selvedges show plain brown wefting.

Zaiane

A long narrow runner organized in horizontal registers rather than a single field, each band carrying its own pattern: rows of small diamonds, chevrons, a checkerboard of x-shapes, striped ribbing, and a dense band of tiny hooked motifs. The palette runs through salmon-pink, cream, dark brown and black, with narrow plain stripes separating the patterned bands. Warp ends finish in a loose knotted fringe at the lower edge.

Tazenakht

The field is covered edge to edge in an irregular, hand-drawn checkerboard of cream and dark brown squares, broken at center by a large brown eight-pointed medallion holding a smaller diamond in blue and ivory flanked by two dark leaf-shaped forms. Along the lower corners the checkerboard gives way to scattered improvised motifs in red, yellow, blue and green, along with small architectural and figural shapes, before the plain warp fringe at each end. There is no separate border; the pattern runs straight to the selvedges.

Beni Ourain

An ivory ground carries a lattice of dark brown outlined diamonds, two large lozenges stacked vertically and crossed by diagonal lines that form a central medallion with a small yellow accent. Scattered small motifs in soft pink, sage green, and dark brown fill the open spaces, including tiny figural and vase-like forms, while a narrow zigzag line in dark brown traces the border on both sides. The end finishes show multicolored twisted fringe at the top and a plain band with dark blue edging at the bottom.
