A plain dark brown-maroon border frames the composition, edged by a wider band of terracotta at the outermost margin.

The lattice runs edge to edge without a distinct guard stripe, giving the whole surface an unbroken trellis effect, with a narrow rust-colored band above and below at the kilim ends before the loose ivory fringe.

The field is organized as a grid of nine rows and five columns of rectangular compartments, each in a solid ground of rust, terracotta, tan, or camel and centered with a smaller outlined rectangle in gold or ivory. There is no distinct border framing the composition; the grid runs to the edges on all sides.

The field is composed of horizontal bands in shades of sage, celadon, and deep olive green, interrupted at the corners by diagonal stepped wedges of terracotta, rust, peach, and burnt orange that intrude inward like jagged staircases. These angular intrusions appear in all four corners, two larger and two smaller, breaking the otherwise calm striped ground with an irregular, almost geometric pixelation. There is no separate border; the stepped motifs themselves frame the open bands of green.
