Swedish Relief Pile

Pile and Flat Weave

An ivory field is overlaid with an all-over lattice of pale sage-green diamonds, each corner turning into a small hooked spiral. The narrow border repeats a single outlined band in the same soft green, running unbroken around all four sides. The palette stays close throughout, with the pattern rendered mainly through texture and outline rather than strong color contrast.

Swedish Pile

An ivory field scattered with blue animal figures rendered in a simple, flattened style, interspersed with small stepped and geometric motifs, sprigs of foliage, and scattered polychrome dots in red, yellow, and green. Diagonal banded corner devices define the field's edges, all enclosed within a narrow yellow inner stripe and a broader ivory border filled with small diamond, zigzag, and stacked-triangle ornaments. The end finishes retain long warp fringe, and a coral-toned outer guard stripe runs along the top and bottom edges.

Swedish Pile

The field is composed of an irregular patchwork of rectangular and square blocks in shades of teal, sage, and olive green, resembling an aerial view of cultivated fields, with thin meandering lines connecting scattered small motifs across the surface. Interspersed within the blocks are small checkerboard and diamond patches in rust, gold, and cream, along with tiny scattered flecks in white and orange. A plain dark brown-maroon border frames the composition, edged by a wider band of terracotta at the outermost margin.

Swedish Pile

An ivory field carries a vertical repeat of stylized floral bouquets in soft powder blue, dusty pink, and mustard yellow, arranged in mirrored rows that step down the length of the piece. A slender gold-yellow line frames the field, followed by a narrow border of angular blue and pink sprigs against a warm taupe ground. Loose fringe remains visible at both ends.

Swedish Pile

The field carries an overall diamond lattice, coral-orange cells outlined in ivory, set against a slate-green ground that frames the composition rather than forming a separate border. The lattice runs edge to edge without a distinct guard stripe, giving the whole surface an unbroken trellis effect, with a narrow rust-colored band above and below at the kilim ends before the loose ivory fringe.

Swedish Pile

The field is organized as a grid of nine rows and five columns of rectangular compartments, each in a solid ground of rust, terracotta, tan, or camel and centered with a smaller outlined rectangle in gold or ivory. Thin banded strips of ivory and gray separate each row, creating a checkerboard rhythm across the surface. There is no distinct border framing the composition; the grid runs to the edges on all sides.

Swedish Pile

The field is composed of horizontal bands in shades of sage, celadon, and deep olive green, interrupted at the corners by diagonal stepped wedges of terracotta, rust, peach, and burnt orange that intrude inward like jagged staircases. These angular intrusions appear in all four corners, two larger and two smaller, breaking the otherwise calm striped ground with an irregular, almost geometric pixelation. There is no separate border; the stepped motifs themselves frame the open bands of green.
