Swedish Flat Weave

An open field in shades of golden yellow is patterned with a subtle diagonal zigzag of tonal striping, its surface scattered irregularly with small figurative motifs of fish rendered in cream, coral, and soft brown. A narrow flat border in ochre and brown frames the field, with a zigzag inner line, and the ends finish in loose ivory fringe.

Tabriz

The field is filled with an allover lattice of interlocking floral medallions rendered in ivory and soft blue-gray against a rust-brown ground, the diamond compartments each enclosing small palmettes and rosettes. Multiple narrow guard stripes in ivory, olive, and rust frame the field, with a wider border of scrolling floral vinework repeating the same palette. A small fragment of a separate patterned border strip appears loose along the lower edge, its dark ground and floral device distinct from the rest of the piece.

Swedish Rya

A shaggy, deep brown ground is patterned with tall, flame-like leaf forms in pink, mustard yellow, ivory, and slate blue, arranged in vertical rows and interspersed with small ring motifs in olive green edged in cream. Simple undulating ivory wave-lines form the top and bottom borders, framing the field on either end, while the sides are left open with the pile running to the edge. Loose warp fringe is visible at both ends.
