Japanese Bamboo Shades

  • Our Japanese bamboo shades are woven to order in Japan from split bamboo, bound and plaited rather than simply strung, so the pattern holds across the whole panel. They filter daylight instead of blocking it, keeping a room bright while softening the light and the view, and each is made to the dimensions of the opening rather than cut down from a stock size.

French Art Deco

A pale, mottled ground carries a single sinuous flowering branch with small yellow blossoms and berries rendered in soft teal and sage green, set off-center within a stepped, architectural border. Top and bottom, angular fan-shaped panels in brown, teal, and yellow scrollwork mirror one another, flanked by corner blocks patterned with stylized wing-like scrolls. The surrounding frame alternates bands of pale blue geometric striation with teal and mustard scrollwork on a gray ground.
