This newly hand-woven 'Palm Leaf' is composed of Ash Wool in the Field in cut pile construction, Nettle Plant Fiber in the Design Lines and Border in loop construction. Available in Custom Sizes and Colors.
An open ivory field left plain, crossed by a loose lattice of thin brown diagonal lines that intersect to form irregular elongated diamonds. The lines are unevenly drawn, some breaking or shifting slightly at their crossings, giving the pattern a hand-drawn irregularity rather than strict symmetry. There is no separate border, the field running to the edges with long warp fringe left bare at both ends.
The field is organized as a grid of rectangular and square blocks in varying widths, each a solid flat tone of ivory, taupe, warm beige, or soft grey, arranged in a staggered, brick-like pattern without a defined border. Fringes of undyed, twisted cord finish the top and bottom edges. The composition relies entirely on the shifting proportions and adjacency of these color blocks rather than any figurative or repeating ornamental motif.
The field is organized as a grid of large diamonds, each divided into four triangular quadrants that alternate between plain ivory and shaded panels of taupe, beige, and warm brown. The banding within the colored triangles has a subtle streaky, hand-brushed quality, giving each diamond a slightly different tonal balance. There is no separate border; the diamond lattice runs edge to edge, framed only by a narrow flat selvage.
