VINTAGE KILIM COMPOSITION

An overall geometric lattice covers the entire field, formed by interlaced bands that cross to create a repeating honeycomb of hexagons in muted tan and beige. Each hexagonal cell shows a subtly varied surface tone, ranging from warm camel to a cooler taupe, giving the grid a woven, basket-like appearance. There is no separate border; the pattern runs edge to edge, and no inscription or signature is visible.

Mat

A close-up view of a textured surface arranged in vertical ribbed columns, alternating between pale ivory and warm sand tones. The uneven, knotted texture of the fibers creates a tactile, corded rhythm across the field, with an inset detail highlighting the raised, looped structure of the surface. No border or central motif is visible, only the repeating striped pattern of the weave itself.

Mat

Weft: Striped Cotton

The field is left entirely open, a solid expanse of pale gold and ivory tones that shift subtly across the surface like natural variations in raw fiber. Fine warp-end fringe finishes the top and bottom edges in undyed white, while the selvage runs in a narrow plain band along each side. A detail inset in the lower corner reveals the close, irregular texture of the weave, where individual strands catch the light unevenly.

Mat

Weft: Poly Cotton

Warp: Khaki Carpet

The surface presents an all-over ivory field organized in vertical bands, alternating a looped, textured stripe with a smoother, flat-woven stripe. A circular detail inset shows the looped texture at close range, revealing individual knotted tufts casting soft shadows against the pale ground. No border, pattern, or inscription interrupts the plain tonal surface.

Mat

An open, undecorated field in pale ivory-beige is crossed by fine, evenly spaced dark brown horizontal stripes running edge to edge, with no border framing them. Fringe in the same dark brown appears at both top and bottom ends. An inset detail circle shows the close, ribbed texture of the surface at magnification.

Mat

Natal Mahogany

The surface shows a close basketweave pattern of thick twisted strands in muted olive and taupe, interspersed with a lighter straw-toned thread that traces a subtle diagonal rhythm across the field. A finished edge runs along the left side, formed by looping the strands back into the weave, while the inset detail highlights the tight, braided quality of the individual cords.

Mat

Weft: Twine + Rug

Warp: Chalk

The field presents a plain, undecorated surface composed of tightly aligned horizontal ridges in soft ivory, interrupted at regular intervals by narrower bands in bright white. The alternating tonal stripes create a subtle, banded rhythm across the whole surface, with no field motif, border, or corner device visible. A detail inset at lower right shows the interlacing of the ridges close up, revealing the slight variation in thickness and twist between the pale and white courses.
