Mat

An all-over field of small interlocking diamonds in tan and ivory covers the entire surface without a distinct border, the two tones alternating in a continuous basketweave lattice. A bound edge in cream runs along all four sides, and a circular inset at lower right offers a close-up detail of the diamond structure.

A plain, undyed sample left entirely open, without border or figured motif, showing only the ridged vertical texture of the surface in a soft ivory tone. Fringe runs along both the top and bottom edges, and a detail inset at lower right magnifies the irregular, nubby structure of the ground. The overall palette stays within a narrow range of cream and pale bone.

    Persian Flatweave

The field is filled with a fine, all-over speckled pattern in soft blue-gray tones against an ivory ground, giving the surface a subtly mottled, almost textile-static effect. Three narrow guard stripes run the length of the piece, each carrying small stepped and hooked motifs alternating with delicate script-like devices in deeper blue. At both ends a horizontal band of tight geometric ornament closes the composition, echoing the vertical borders, while the corners are finished with plain warp fringe.

    Double-sided Persian flat-weave, Zilo

The field is filled with an all-over lattice of tiny stepped diamonds and crosses in indigo blue against an ivory ground, giving the surface an even, textile-like density. Wide guard stripes on either side carry a repeating vertical script-like motif in the same blue tone, flanked by narrower bands of small linked diamonds. Both short ends close with horizontal registers of stylized botehs or floral sprigs and rows of tiny triangles before finishing in loose ivory fringe.
