The field is left entirely open, a soft ivory ground with a fine textured surface that catches the light in subtle horizontal ridges. A continuous grey key-fret meander runs around all four sides, its angular hooks and steps rendered in a slightly heathered tone against the pale ground. The border is bound close to the edge, with the fret pattern turning neatly at each corner without interruption, and a close-up detail confirms the crisp, even geometry of the interlocking motif.

The field is covered edge to edge with a repeating diamond lattice, each elongated diamond bisected by a fine vertical line and alternating between a taupe ground and an open ivory ground. A slim ivory-and-taupe border frames the composition without further ornament, echoing the same two tones seen in the field.

60% Cotton, 40% Wool

The field is left uninterrupted by borders, its entire surface given over to a continuous diamond lattice formed by small stepped squares in undyed ivory against a warm tan ground. The repeat runs cleanly from selvedge to selvedge, each lozenge nesting into the next in a steady vertical cadence, while the pattern terminates abruptly at top and bottom into loose, unknotted fringe.

A plain narrow border frames the field, echoed by a wider outer band of finely textured cream. The field is laid out in an all-over lattice of interlocking diamonds and hexagons, each cell holding a small flowerhead motif rendered in tone-on-tone ivory against the pale ground. The field is organized into repeating horizontal bands of concentric diamond forms, each rendered in a shimmering interplay of gold and ivory that creates an optical, almost vibrating pattern. These diamond registers alternate with narrow striped bands of ivory and dark brown, providing a crisp horizontal rhythm across the surface. Fringed ends finish the piece top and bottom, plain and undyed.

The pattern is rendered through a subtle contrast of textures rather than color, with the raised, corded lines standing slightly proud of the flatter ground so the geometry reads through surface relief. A plain, narrow border frames the composition, left free of ornament so the interior lattice remains the sole focus.

A soft diagonal band of deeper amber and ochre moves across the composition from lower left to upper right, its edges blurred rather than sharply drawn. Scattered small knots and slubs interrupt the striated ground, giving the whole an uneven, hand-worked quality with no border or framing device.
