The surface is composed of narrow horizontal bands alternating in a fine flat weave, with tones of natural tan and deep navy blue creating a subtle striped rhythm across the field. A tight, ribbed texture runs evenly throughout, broken only by small looped selvedges along one edge. The detail inset reveals the close interlacing of the two tones, showing how the striping is built up thread by thread rather than through applied pattern.
