Turkish Bessarabian Kilim

An open field of golden ochre supports an all-over lattice of stylized floral sprays, each rising from a stepped, feather-like burst rendered in aubergine, cream, and dark brown. Small rosettes in coral and ivory cluster along the branching stems, interspersed with slender arrow and leaf forms in pale blue, rust, and white. A narrow flat border of small geometric and floral devices in muted red, cream, and brown frames the composition, with the plain warp fringe visible at both ends.

An open field of solid mustard yellow is left entirely plain, framed by a border composed of small squares alternating in gold, sage green, and grey, each topped with a jagged, flame-like edge in a contrasting tone. A narrow ivory band separates field from border and outlines the whole design, with the woven initials visible in the lower corner of the border. Loose warp fringes finish the top and bottom edges.

The field is organized around three large ivory medallions with stepped, jagged edges, each centered on a horizontal band of dark ochre dashes. Between the medallions, small mirrored clusters of orange, grey, and pale green diamond forms create a compact, symmetrical motif against the tan ground. The wide outer border alternates blocky brown and tan geometric steps, framed by narrow bands of grey and ochre before the loose fringed edges, with the initials appearing woven into the lower corner of the field.

An open field of ivory left plain apart from a faint striated texture, framed by concentric bands of ochre, sage green, and brown. The main border carries small stepped chevrons and diamond medallions in coral, cream, and taupe against the green ground, while a narrow outer band of tiny white checks runs along the brown edge. The initials appear woven into the lower corner of the border, integrated into the pattern rather than set apart from it.

An abstract, painterly field of horizontal striations blends rust, ochre, sage, and slate blue into cloud-like massed forms rather than fixed motifs. This open ground is framed by a border of interlocking hooked diamonds and stepped medallions in brown, gold, and cream, itself set within a plain brown outer band. Warp fringe is left loose and untrimmed at both ends.
