Turkish wool, hemp, linen & cotton panels with bronze wire stitching.
3 Persian panels stitched together with brown linen and orange wool twisted together, binding at the edge made with brown wool only.
The field is composed of an all-over grid of offset squares in ivory and pale grey, interspersed with narrower striped blocks of gold, ochre, and grey vertical lines. There is no distinct border; the checkerboard-like arrangement runs edge to edge, giving the surface a modular, patchwork appearance. The palette stays muted throughout, with the striped accents providing the only textured contrast against the flat, solid-colored squares.
Hezar Jerib panels
Soumak wool panels (persian) - narrow striped with natural tones of wool along with delicate shades of orange and light blue.
The field is composed of an irregular grid of rectangular and square panels pieced together, each block showing fine striated linear texture in tones ranging from pale taupe and grey to deep charcoal and umber. Visible stitched seams outline every block, forming the pattern rather than any applied border, and there is no separate framing border to the composition. The overall effect is an abstract patchwork with no figurative motifs, the color shifting gradually across the surface from lighter grey-browns to darker brown-black segments.
The field is organized in vertical bands of varying widths, each rendered in a solid, subtly striated tone, with two bands interrupted by horizontal color shifts—one panel breaking from pale blue-gray to soft brown, another shifting near the base from brown to cream. The palette moves through camel, taupe, ivory, slate gray, and a pale blue-green, with no border framing the composition, allowing the stripes to run edge to edge.
Natural linen stitch (herringbone and button stitch).
An allover geometric field of interlocking octagons and elongated hexagonal forms rendered in a tonal palette of ivory, taupe, and soft brown, with no distinct border framing the pattern. Each cell shows subtle striations of tone within the solid color blocks, giving the grid a quiet, patchwork-like variation. The design runs edge to edge, suggesting the pattern continues beyond the visible field.
The field is composed of five vertical bands running the full length of the piece, alternating in tone from warm taupe and soft gray-brown to pale ivory and deeper olive-brown. There is no border framing the composition; the striped panels run edge to edge, finished with a narrow flat selvage visible along both sides. The palette stays within a neutral range of grays, taupes, and creams, with subtle variation in tone within each stripe suggesting handled, uneven dyeing or shading.
