Swedish Flat Weave

Signed: SKLH (Skaraborgs Lans Hemslojd)

The field is organized into four vertical panels divided by narrow golden-toned bands, each panel repeating a stacked motif of crenellated blue-gray forms above small brick-red and taupe squares, separated by rows of thin horizontal striping. A plain ivory ground shows through around the motifs, scattered with tiny isolated squares in blue, taupe, and rust. The outer border is a solid mustard-yellow band framed by fine brown guard stripes, with a row of small dark squares set along its inner edge.

Gray Stripes (AA)

An unadorned field of banded horizontal rows in muted greige and ivory tones, each stripe built from small repeating rectangular and dot-like motifs that create a subtle textured grid. Faint vertical seams divide the surface into three uneven panels, and the top and bottom edges finish in loose, undyed fringe. The overall palette stays close in value, giving the piece a quiet, all-over rhythm rather than a defined border.

100% Cotton

A dark ground, nearly black, is overlaid with a fine grid of narrow white and cream stripes running both horizontally and vertically, creating an even plaid of small rectangles. Scattered irregularly across this grid are isolated squares of accent color - teal, coral, violet, chartreuse, and pale ivory - each appearing to interrupt a single grid cell without any repeating pattern to their placement. The overall field is left otherwise plain, with no border distinct from the grid itself.

Konfetti

A narrow runner with an open, unadorned field left plain and border-free, its surface built from short, irregular flecks of ivory, pale blue-gray, and soft taupe that create a mottled, striated texture across the length. A detail inset at lower right reveals the close structure of the surface, where small looped and knotted tufts of cream, dove gray, and pale yellow catch light against a finer woven base. Fringe finishes both ends in undyed ivory strands.

Pile Technique

A pale ivory ground carries a dense scatter of dark, calligraphic scrollwork—loose loops, zigzags, and freeform curls rendered in a single charcoal-brown line that never repeats itself twice. Scattered among the linework are faint cream-toned accents, small dashes and dotted marks, that read almost like a secondary, quieter pattern beneath the surface. A plain warm brown border frames the composition, edged with a thin band of rust-red stitching along its inner line.
