Needlepoint

A soft slate-green ground is overlaid with an interlacing lattice of pale gold vines that form pointed arches, each enclosing a large six-petaled blossom in coral-red with a cream-and-red center. Smaller cream roses, orange florets, and scattered leaves and rosebuds fill the interstices, all rendered in the same yellow-green, coral, and cream palette. A narrow guard stripe of small alternating florets separates the field from a wider border of matching red and gold blossoms connected by a continuous leafy vine, with the same corallate flower repeated in each corner.

Bessarabian

A central medallion of an eight-pointed star sits within a beaded oval, encircled by a dense wreath of ivory and gold roses and blossoms rendered against a teal-blue ground. The surrounding field shifts through lattice and lozenge lattice bands in deeper blue before giving way to a broad golden-tan border of scrolling acanthus and corner fan motifs, framed by a narrow outer band of small hexagonal medallions. Corner spandrels in pale blue with quartered lozenges echo the medallion's palette, tying the composition together.

Bessarabian

The field is filled with a dense, all-over lattice of small floral sprays in mauve, taupe, and cream set against a warm tan ground, arranged in repeating vertical columns. A soft mauve band frames the field, followed by an ivory border carrying a continuous trailing vine of leaves and blossoms, with a slim dark outer guard stripe. The palette throughout stays muted and tonal, favoring dusty mauve, camel, and off-white.

Indo-Persian

An allover lattice of diamond-shaped medallions fills the golden field, each compartment enclosing small floral rosettes rendered in pale blue, ivory, and soft rose. The main border repeats round rosette medallions connected by scrolling vine work in muted rose and sage against a warm tan ground, flanked by narrower guard stripes of stylized blossoms. The palette throughout stays soft and faded, with straw, dusty pink, and pale blue-green dominating a symmetrical, densely patterned surface.

AMRITSAR

An ivory field is covered in an allover lattice of slender scrolling vines bearing small palmettes and rosettes in coral, soft green, and gold. The wide border repeats a rhythmic sequence of scalloped palmettes and leafy sprays in muted rust and sage against a warm tan ground, framed by narrow guard stripes in matching tones. The overall palette stays light and even, with no dramatic contrast between field and border.

Amritsar

An ivory field carries an overall lattice of scrolling vines, small rosettes, and stylized palmette forms rendered in dusty rose and ochre. A wide rose-colored border filled with meandering floral scrollwork frames the field, flanked by narrower guard stripes in cream and gold tones. The palette throughout is soft and muted, dominated by pink, tan, and cream against the pale ground.

Aubusson

A rose-pink ground centers on an ivory quatrefoil medallion filled with a bouquet of pink and cream roses, encircled by garlands of flowers and pale blue scrolling cartouches. The wide border repeats the same rocaille scrollwork in cream and sage green, interspersed with rose bouquets and small blue medallions at the corners, echoing the medallion's palette throughout the composition.

Sultanabad

An overall lattice of palmettes and rosettes in rust, ivory, and slate blue fills a warm gold-tan ground from edge to edge, each blossom linked by fine curling vines. The wide steel-blue border carries a repeating floral vine and is framed by several narrower guard stripes in matching rust, cream, and blue tones. Coloration remains fairly even throughout, with the corner turns of the border resolving cleanly into the design.

Mahal

The rust-red field is organized by an ivory lattice of scrolling, palmette-tipped vines forming interlocking medallion-like compartments, each filled with small rosettes in blue, gold, and cream. A steel-blue main border carries a repeating palmette-and-vine pattern between narrower guard stripes of stylized floral trellis work in matching tones. The palette throughout is consistent - brick red, indigo, ivory, and muted gold - with the corner devices resolving cleanly into the border design.

Berber

The field is composed entirely of narrow horizontal bands in muted olive-brown and cream, each stripe edged with a fine zigzag line running the width of the piece. A few bands break the rhythm with flecks of rust, orange, and white, adding brief color incident to an otherwise subdued striping. Fringe survives unevenly at both ends, heavier and looser at the lower right corner, with no border framing the composition beyond the stripes themselves.
