Pond

An irregular, freeform outline breaks entirely from the rectangular convention, its edges swelling and pinching into soft undulating curves. The open lavender-grey ground is left largely bare except for scattered clusters of cream, olive and taupe leaf shapes gathered at the upper left and lower corners, echoing a loose sprig of foliage fallen across the surface. A layered border of dusty rose, mustard yellow, pale grey-green and charcoal traces the wavering perimeter in concentric bands, following every curve and notch of the shape.
