Turkish Tulu

The field is composed entirely of narrow horizontal bands in undyed tones of ivory, camel, rust-brown, and near-black, running edge to edge with no border or corner motifs. A solid dark band frames the top and bottom edges before the fringe, and the inset detail shows the shaggy, uneven texture of the striping up close. The palette stays within natural earth tones throughout, with no other pattern or inscription visible.

Turkish Tulu

A high-pile field of narrow horizontal stripes in warm brown alternating with black runs the length of the piece, framed by a solid black border of equal density on all sides. The inset detail shows the long, lustrous pile lying in ridges that catch the light differently along each stripe, giving the surface a subtle sheen and texture. Fringe in undyed ivory is visible at both ends.

Moroccan Soumak

A solid-ground piece worked in deep, near-black indigo with subtle horizontal striations of tone running across the field, left entirely unadorned save for the natural color variation of the surface itself. The undyed warp fringe appears in a pale tan at both ends, contrasting sharply with the dark ground. A detail inset at lower right reveals the close, knotted texture of the surface, where flecks of blue and charcoal intermingle.

Moroccan

The field is left largely open in undyed ivory, crossed by irregular horizontal bands of varying width in taupe, grey-brown, and soft camel tones. These striations shift in density and thickness across the surface, some crisply drawn and others softened into a blurred, atmospheric weave. A small dark brown accent breaks the striping near the lower left corner, and the piece finishes top and bottom in loose warp fringe with a narrow braided border along the lower edge.
