The surface is given entirely to a fine diagonal stripe, tones of soft grey, oatmeal, and ivory alternating in tight repeat, with a thin metallic gold thread twisting alongside the paler bands to catch the light. A detail inset at lower right shows the individual plied yarns, revealing how the gold filament winds around the wool-toned strands rather than lying flat. The overall ground reads as a continuous woven cord pattern with no border or field distinction, the diagonal lines running uniformly edge to edge.

The field is left entirely open, a plain expanse of pale straw and ivory tones woven in a close, even ribbed texture that runs uniformly across the surface. A detail inset at lower right magnifies the structure, revealing the alternating horizontal ridges and flecks of deeper gold and cream within the yarn. The selvage along the top edge is finished in a thick overcast wrap of matching tone, with no border, ornament, or inscription visible anywhere on the surface.

A solid brown ground left entirely open, its only interruption a series of thin vertical seam lines running the length of the field where narrower panels have been joined. The edges are finished with a hand-worked overcast stitch in a lighter tan tone, visible along all four sides. No border, ornament, or inscription appears anywhere on the surface.
