Swedish Rya

A flatwoven field of fine horizontal striations in ivory, grey, and pale blue is overlaid with a loose grid of bold indigo bands, forming an irregular checkerboard of blocks that shift slightly out of alignment. The composition has no separate border, the striped ground running edge to edge and finishing in long warp fringe at both ends. A detail inset shows the tight, ribbed structure and the transition between the pale ground and a denser blue band.

SAVONNERIE

An open field of pale gold gives way to two mirrored, shield-shaped medallions rendered in soft blue-gray and rust, their forms echoing acanthus-like fronds that meet at the field's center. Scrolling foliate sprays in muted blue, apricot, and touches of pink occupy each corner, leaving the border itself unmarked and the ground otherwise bare. The overall palette stays within warm ivory and gold tones, with the cooler blue-gray of the medallions providing the field's only strong contrast.

SWEDISH FLAT WEAVE

The field is left entirely open, a solid expanse of pale straw and sand tones with subtle heathered variation across the surface. A narrow border in a slightly deeper gold tone frames the piece along its edges. An inset detail image shows the surface's close, knotted texture, mixing cream, tan, and gray flecks.

BERBER

An open, undyed ivory ground is divided by irregular brown lines into an offset brick-like grid of rectangular blocks, the divisions loosely drawn and shifting in rhythm from row to row. Two thin bands, one pale green and one carrying flecks of red, cross the field horizontally, breaking the otherwise uniform surface. The composition has no distinct border, allowing the field pattern to run to the edges on all sides.

BERBER

The field is left entirely open, filled edge to edge with a fine vertical striation in blended tones of charcoal, grey, and taupe, giving the surface a subtly striped, almost tweed-like appearance. A single horizontal seam crosses the composition roughly at mid-length, marking a join in the panel, with a darker band of solid grey-brown running along that division. Plain undyed selvedges frame the piece on all sides, with no border ornament or figurative motifs present.

BERBER

An expansive undyed ivory field, left almost entirely open, is bounded top and bottom by narrow bands of loosely drawn brown zigzag lines, with scattered small brown dashes floating just above the upper band. The wide plain center emphasizes the deep, uneven pile texture, while the zigzag bands taper asymmetrically, denser and more numerous at the lower edge than at the top.

BERBER

The field is left entirely open, an unbroken expanse of pale ivory to soft khaki with subtle tonal variation across the surface. A faint vertical seam runs down the center, and scattered light striations and mottling give the ground a gently uneven, sun-washed appearance. No border, medallion, or other ornament is visible; the plain edges are finished in a narrow flat band along the lower edge.
