VINTAGE KILIM COMPOSITION
A plain tobacco-brown ground is divided into a grid of rectangular panels, their seams picked out with a twisted braid-like stitch in beige and copper tones. The panels appear to be joined strips rather than a single continuous surface, giving the piece a patchwork structure, while the outer edge is finished with the same twisted cord binding. A detail inset at lower right shows the close texture of the surface and the stitched seam up close.
