Period Tapestries from 16th to 19th Century

Our wall hangings are drawn largely from twentieth-century Scandinavia, and include one-of-a-kind works by the great Swedish textile artists — among them Märta Måås-Fjetterström, Barbro Nilsson, Marianne Richter and Ingrid Dessau. Woven between the 1920s and 1970s, they range from intimate pieces close to a foot square to hangings of eleven feet, and are complemented by French and Norwegian work. These are textiles made to be read as art rather than walked upon.
